Miniature Carousel Builders Corner
This month we are presenting the first of two carousels built by Warren Greenawalt of Pennsylvania. Warren is a charter member of the Miniature Carousel Builders and has served as Vice-President, Secretary and a member of the Board of Directors. During 1993, he built his first carousel in approximately 350 hours. His wife Nancy, accompanies him to exhibits.

- Theme: Original design; carousel roof sign reads "Joy Time Park" (fictional name)
This carousel is enclosed in a miniature building which includes a fence. 1500 doll house shingles cover the roof and a crystal ball is mounted on top.
There are 24 ceramic menagerie animals, miniature band organ, bell ringer, ticket booth, ring machine with attendant and clown box to catch the rings. Warren hand carved 21 of the 33 carousel people. 207 jewels and 25 mirrors decorate the picture board and rounding board. Also, six postcards of scenery from around the US are mounted on the rounding board. He used an outdoor grill rotisserie motor to power the carousel at 5 RPM. A concealed tape player provides authentic organ music.
Warren has displayed this carousel at Knobels Park, Chambersburg Mall, Elizabethtown Circus Days, Sesquicentennial store window, schools, Art Festival, 55th High School Class Reunion, Dollywood, Masonic Nursing Home, and numerous other nursing homes.
