Miniature Carousel Builders Corner
This month's beautiful example of carousel art was constructed by Ken
Adams, Charter Member and former President of the Miniature Carousel
Builders organization.
The carousel was built in the early '90's and took between four and five
months to complete. This is the third of six carousels constructed by
the builder. Before retirement, Ken was the owner of an upholstery
business. With his skills and talent, he made the vinyl burgundy and
white carousel top, as well as tops for numerous club members.
The Details:
Base: 30" x30"
Carousel: 27" Diameter, 18" Height
Twelve sweeps, three rows
Scale: 5/8" = one foot
Pit Type - Circa 1905
This Pit Type carousel was hand-made except for the ceramic and
porcelain animals and chariots. It features a menagerie of 32 animals
and two chariots which were hand painted by the builder.
Lights, jumping animals and music enhance the beauty of this miniature
carousel.
This picture was taken during the Club's exhibit at an area nursing
home.
