Miniature Carousel Builders Corner
This month's carousel art is a beautiful example of craftsmanship by
Walter Kohler of Maryland, a charter member and Treasurer of the
Miniature Carousel Builders organization. Walt is a wood carver and,
except for the motor, the entire carousel is made of wood, including the
carved gears. In 1994, after six months, Walt completed this fourth of
eight carousels which was displayed at the Valley Mall, Hagerstown, MD
in June 2003.
Also, Walt carves canes, detailed-scaled model trains and has made
display tables for his carousels of cherry, and walnut woods.

The Kohlers have displayed their carousels in public schools,
church, nursing homes and shopping malls.
