Miniature Carousel Builders Corner
This month's beautiful carousel was built by Henri Laprime, Florida. He is a new member of the Miniature Carousel Builders (MCB) and completed his first carousel in nine months in 2004. According to Henri, he has had a love for the circus since childhood and has longed to build a carousel. He is an artist and wood carver and heard about the MCB through a fellow wood carver, Walt Kohler, member of MCB.

This carousel features a menagerie of 20 ceramic animals and two chariots painted by Henri. He carved and painted the 1½" - 2" children riding the animals.

Pictures of cowboys and Indians are mounted in wooden frames on the scenery panels and mirrors are attached to the picture board. The rounding board is adorned with plastic ornaments featuring clowns and mirrors. Henri's personal touch is notable in the fence decorated with his hand carved painted animals for the children's enjoyment. He has added a wooden ticket booth accessory. A tape player provides carousel music.
Henri has exhibited this carousel at the Indian Festival in DeLeon Springs, FL, and the Senior Center in Deltona, FL. This month he has an invitation to exhibit at the Blue Springs Park, FL.
