Early photos of Freeman's Carousel, the horrendous fire that destroyed it in 1955, the Casino Pier Carousel, and the boardwalk amusement piers as they evolved over nearly a century provide a comprehensive view of the progress of what its most famous mayor, J. Stanley Tunney, referred to as the "town that fun built."
